SHARED Server Hardware
Our SHARED servers are custom built single and dual AMD Opteron/Athlon 2.0 GHz or Xeon/Pentium 2.0 GHZ and higher machines with a minimum 2 GIG of RAM. All machines are dual RAID (redundancy, in-case of HD failure) controlled hard drives. They are mounted in lock-down, tri-fan, dual power supply racks.
SHARED Server Operating Systems
Our shared server systems are running stable Linux operating systems. The operating system and many core components have been modified to support a fully robust shared server environment. Each server's OS has been modified in such a way that if a neighboring website suddenly consumes a large amount of system resources, your website services continue unaffected.

Electrical Reliability
The same reliability found in our Internet connections can be found in our electrical systems. Installing a complex electrical infrastructure between the city transformers and the server farm, Performancehosting Internet's new data center ensures the inevitable spikes and power failures are filtered and compensated for long before they reach the web servers. When a lightning strike takes out the city transformer, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) continue to provide clean power. If an extended city power outage is experienced, diesel powered generators take over. When city power returns, the system switches over smoothly, and the web site visitor continues accessing the servers and remains unaware of the transition.
